New Smyrna Beach weddings hold a special place in my heart. It's the charming Florida beach town where I not only said "I do" myself, but it's also where I had the incredible privilege of providing the soundscape to Heidi and Matt's love story at the beautiful Bending Branch Ranch wedding venue.
Stepping onto the grounds of Bending Branch Ranch, a sense of rustic elegance washes over you. Lush greenery frames the expansive outdoor space, creating a picture-perfect backdrop. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the ceremony area under the spanding oak tree, I knew this was going to be a truly special evening.
Setting the Stage with Gentle Uke Vibes
The guests began arriving to the gentle strumming of the ukulele, with the timeless classic "Can't Help Falling In Love" setting a relaxed and romantic ambience. Weaving popular love songs like "Perfect" and "Shivers," a warm and welcoming atmosphere was created as friends and family gathered with anticipation.
A Ceremony Steeped in Love and Music
As the ceremony unfolded, the weight of the moment settled in a beautiful way. For the processional, the wedding party processed to the heartwarming "Two Becoming One," a Christian wedding song that perfectly captured the sanctity of the occasion.
The moment Matt saw Heidi walking down the aisle was pure magic. The air crackled with emotion with the seamless transition into "I Choose You" by Matt Darling, a special request from the couple. This intimate song choice filled the space with a profound sense of commitment and love, leaving not a dry eye in the audience.
Following the heartfelt vows and exchange of rings, the recessional brought a wave of joy with Katrina and the Waves' upbeat "Walking on Sunshine." The newly minted Mr. and Mrs. practically floated back down the aisle, beaming with happiness.

During the cocktail hour, I traded my ukulele for my guitar, creating a lively yet relaxing atmosphere with a mix of classic and contemporary love songs. The energy was electric as guests mingled, shared stories, and basked in the afterglow of the ceremony.
One of the highlights of the night was witnessing Heidi and Matt completely own the dance floor during their first dance. The raw emotion and pure joy radiating from them were truly heartwarming.
